Working as a cabinet maker in post-war Denmark, Paul Volther was often faced with material shortages for his designs. This problem meant that he developed a highly functional design ethic that reached its apex in the Corona chair of 1961. With small, elliptical cushions suspended on a frame, it was created to maximise the use of the limited resources available and provide a variety of comfortable seating positions. Out of this necessity and economy came what we at Pash believe is one of the most beautiful post-war chair designs, a classic that looks superb in any home or office environment.
